German Exam Simulator ("the App") is developed by GermanLang ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data to provide our services:

• Voice Recordings: When you use the speaking exam feature, your voice is temporarily recorded and sent to a secure server for speech-to-text conversion. Recordings are processed in real-time and are NOT stored permanently.
• Exam Answers: Your written answers and exam responses are sent to a secure server for AI-powered evaluation. These are processed in real-time and are NOT stored permanently.
• Anonymous Device Identifiers: To manage premium subscriptions and restore purchases without requiring an account, we use randomly generated, anonymous device IDs (via RevenueCat).
• Purchase Information: If you subscribe to premium features, purchase data is handled entirely by Google Play Store. We do not collect or store payment information.

2. How We Use Information

• To convert your speech to text during speaking exams
• To evaluate your exam answers using AI
• To generate AI voice responses during speaking practice
• To restore your purchases across devices

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: For exam content delivery and secure API routing. Supabase Privacy Policy
• OpenAI: For speech recognition, AI conversation, text-to-speech, and exam evaluation. Your data is processed through our secure server and is not used by OpenAI for training. OpenAI Privacy Policy

• Google Play Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases.

4. Data Storage and Security

• We do NOT create user accounts or require login.
• We do NOT store your voice recordings, exam answers, or personal data on our servers.
• All data processing happens in real-time and is discarded after the response is generated.
• Exam content is downloaded from secure servers (Supabase) over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
• API communications are routed through secure server-side functions. No API keys are stored in the app.

5. Subscriptions and Purchases

The App offers optional premium subscriptions:

• Weekly Pass ($9.99): One-time purchase providing full access to all exams for 7 days. Does not auto-renew. No further charges after purchase.
• Monthly Premium ($24.99/month): Recurring subscription that auto-renews each month. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period to avoid renewal.

Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play Store > Settings > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

A subscription is not required to use the App. Free users can complete Exam 1 of each format, including the speaking section once per day. Premium users can take the speaking section up to 2-3 times per day depending on their plan. The App does not offer a free trial period. Free content is always available without any purchase or time limit.

6. Intended Audience

This App is intended for language learners preparing for German language exams.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have any concerns, please contact us.

8. Microphone Permission

The App requests microphone access ONLY when you enter the speaking exam section. This is required for the speech recognition feature. You can deny this permission, but the speaking exam will not function without it. Your audio is processed in real-time and is not stored.

9. Internet Connection

The App requires an active internet connection to function. Exam content, AI evaluation, and speech features all require server communication.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
